Jhoomer jewelry is made in New York, using several different metal techniques.

One of a Kind pieces are exquisitely made in 18kt gold, diamonds and precious gem stones. All of these pieces are designed by Nandini and are made by master jewelers in New York City. These pieces are at times purely hand fabricated, or casted in gold from wax carvings, after which the gemstones are set and hand finished for a particular polish that makes the pieces glow with the warmth of 18kt gold. All gemstones used in these pieces are specially cut, so that each pieces is intrinsically unique, adding to the the talismanic nature of the jewelry. Most importantly, the wearer, or giver of these pieces endows it with distinct meaning and love.

22kt pieces are made in the classical techniques used by ancient and moder Indians, Greeks, and Romans. It is gold-smithing the old fashioned way, all handmade from milling, fusing, soldering, granulation, to wire wrapping. The end result of this method of jewelry making is a classical look, so the designs tend to be Indian or antique inspired.

Firoza was the first collection designed and made by Nandini, under the moniker, Jhoomer. It is a collection of 14kt gold and smooth turquoise. Firoza pieces are soldered, and hand polished to create a warm golden glow. Spiral Egg collection is based on the bead. The spiral egg beads are all made by the traditional method of lost wax casting, hand assembly and polishing. The spiral eggs are also very sculptural in design, particularly for the positive and negative spaces the egg inhabits. The concept for this collection is based on the idea that what is there is just as imporatnt as what is not there.

Glitter is a frivolous name for a collection that has it’s root in the positive/negative design theme. This collection is completely hand fabricated by forging, planishing, and soldering. Glitter is a very labor intensive collection, and it is only by these methods that the pieces maintain movement and flexibilty for wearability.

Rope uses the most basic technique of jewelry making, stringing. Hundreds of beautiful silver facet cut beads are strung together to create ropes, which can be worn around the neck, waist, or wrist. The look is instant glamour.
